Dark Prison Haunted House
Across 17 nights this fall, guests will experience an immersive, cinematic haunt set within the real cellblocks and corridors of the decommissioned maximum-security prison, more than 150 years old, which closed to the public in 2012.
Dark Prison is set across many iconic locations in the prison. The Yard acts as a portal and party space with new games, DJ music, a bar selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and performances from local Northern Nevada artists on some special nights. Cell Block C is the first extension of the haunt. Horrifying inmates fill these real prison cells and they’re ready to get out. Unit 15 is next and holds some of Dark Prison’s newer inmates infected with the Shadow Plague which has followed our characters from the previous haunted house in Downtown Reno. Then finally Jorgan’s Institute for the Unwell houses new characters, who were fabricated by the talented artists from Dark Corner Creative and VEXA props.
Hosted in partnership with the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society (NSPPS), Dark Prison offers guests rare, after-hours access to one of Nevada’s most storied sites—reimagined as a high-intensity haunt designed for horror fans and thrill-seekers alike.
