Carson Lanes Family Fun Center

In the mid-1800s the building now known as the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) was built on King Street as a steam beer brewery, bar and Masonic Lodge that would ship kegs and barrels out to local saloons. In the early 1900s the building belonged to Carson Brewing Company who crafted Tahoe Beer, "Famous As The Lake." A mural depicting those brewers can be seen on the side of the building. It became the Nevada Appeal's headquarters in the second half of the century, and it now functions as the center of Carson City's arts and entertainment community. The history of the building is still very much alive through the Brewery Arts Center's local artist gallery, the home of the Nevada Artists Association and open to the public for walkthroughs and exhibits as well as the stage performances in the center's black box theater. The BAC acquired the historic Catholic church across the street, now converted into a performance hall for bigger productions and musical events. The warmer months belong to weekend block parties outside with live musical acts, food and beverages. Upstairs is the 1864 Grand Ballroom, available for private events and weddings. And the BAC has a calendar full of art, photography and pottery classes for all ages as well as monthly improv comedy shows and children's theater events. Come by for the gallery, the Artisan Store or to reserve a spot in the next class. There's always something happening at the Brewery Arts Center.
