When you visit a town that's more than 150 years old, you're bound to find a place replete with history, and Carson City is no exception. The downtown area thrives on the city's history. The Kit Carson Trail, more commonly known as the Blue Line Trail, has made it easy for you to experience Carson City's beautiful landmarks at your own convenience and pace. The trail is named for the cobalt painted line that zigzags through sidewalks lining 19th-century Victorian homes, the Governor's Mansion and the Nevada State Museum. Pick a nice day and start anywhere you'd like; the locations (such as the Ferris Mansion, the Abe Curry House, the Dat So La Lee House and the Bliss Mansion) all have plaques detailing the history of the location and the founders and notable people of early Carson City. Gaze at these amazing buildings and immerse yourself in the history of the town!
