The south end of Gardnerville is home to the Douglas County Shooting Range, an area designated for shooting pistols and rifles. It's open from sunrise to sunset every day of the week, though Tuesday and Thursday mornings are reserved for the county's sheriff's office. The berm for the pistol range is at 50 yards, and the berms at the rifle range are at 100, 200 and 300 yards out. There are shaded benches for public use, and you'll have to supply your own sandbags, seat and, of course, guns.
