Youth & Family Event: Pony Express Day
In partnership with the non-profit National Pony Express Association, Nevada Division, youth and their families will experience both the history of the Pony Express and learn about its role today during the annual re-ride in June, between St. Joseph, Missouri, and Sacramento, California.
Participants will witness mochila mail exchanges by horseback, hear a Chautauqua by rider Warren Upson, who was a rider at Lake Tahoe and in Carson Valley, work with ham radio operators to learn how they assist the riders today, partake in a photo booth, go on a scavenger hunt, and enjoy craft activities.
Please RSVP to events@dangberg.org with your name and number in your party. Suitable for ages three to fifteen. No drop-offs please. All youth must be accompanied by an adult.
