Virginia City Events:

Mark Twain’s time in Nevada was fast, furious, and left a lasting impact. The region and Twain were changed forever and the dust he kicked up has never quite settled. To carry on with what Mark Twain loved most about Nevada—the characters, the excitement, and the spirit of the west—we invite you to the Mark Twain Days Festival in Virginia City and Downtown Carson City. Discover yourself like Samuel Clemens did when he left Missouri to find his true identity in Nevada with art, music, literary events, neighborhood tours, the Twain Train, and so much more.

Territorial Enterprise - Oct. 17 The historic Territorial Enterprise Mark Twain Museum will be open for walk-in tours. If you’d like to arrange a group visit or schedule a tour time in advance, please contact Steven Saylor at steven.territorialenterprise@gmail.com.

Twain Train - Oct. 17 The Twain Train takes off from Carson City for Virginia City on the historic V&T Railway. This epic journey will allow you to explore Twain and Virginia City. Tickets and more information available at vtrailway.com.

St. Mary's Art Center - Oct. 18 & 19 This weekend celebrates Mark Twain and his rich history in Virginia City and Carson City with the great added bonus of the Fall Art Reception on Oct. 18, 1-4pm. To learn more, visit St. Mary's Art Center.

Fourth Ward School - Oct. 17 - 19 The Historic Fourth Ward School & Museum will feature a Mark Twain exhibit and will have free Mark Twain posters to attendees (while supplies last). On October 18, they will host the 1st Annual Virginia City Modulate Music Festival featuring The Language of Birds.
