Matchbook Winery is nestled in the Dunnigan Hills, just north of Sacramento and Davis, CA. The upland geographic location sets them apart as the vines capture the cool breeze from the delta region allowing the grapes to stay cool, preserving their natural acidity. The Giguiere's are 5th generation farmers who recognize the land's potential and are experts in the region's soil and climate. Add in winemaker, Dan Cederquist, who got his start with Stag's Leap, their mutual need to innovate and create sumptuous wines with lush textures has led to a beautiful partnership. They have found a balance between old school and modern that comes through in their consistently delicious and intensely flavorful wines.
