Spring Has Sprung Art Show

Nevada Artists Association, Spring Has Sprung Art Show
Event Description:

Don't miss the Spring Has Sprung Art Show now through May 3rd.

Irene has called herself an artist since she was a child, influenced by creative parents who surrounded her with the arts and the process of art.  She has a fine arts degree from San Jose State University and also trained at the Cleveland Institute of Arts, Cooper School of Art, Cleveland, Ohio, and Ohio University,  Athens, Ohio. While in Sonora, CA she studied with several successful local artists and was a long standing member of the Mother Lode Art Association and Tuolumne County Arts Alliance. In June 2015 she and her husband moved to Gardnerville, NV.  She is an active member of the Carson Valley Arts Council and the Nevada Artists Association and shows at regional art shows and at Gallery at Prism, Minden; East Fork Gallery, Gardnerville; Nevada Art Association Gallery, Carson. Irene loves to teach adults and children and awaken in them the idea of “seeing with their fingers” using contour and blind contour drawing exercises and giving them confidence that they can paint with watercolor successfully. Currently she teaches by appointment in her home studio. For over 40 years, her professional career was as a graphic designer working for advertising agencies, marketing/pr firms, corporate creative departments and colleges. She ran her own graphic design business for many years. Her passion in producing art is not to emulate what she sees, but to put into color and feeling what she experiences. She says her best work comes when she has experienced a scene or flowers, studies it with color, composition in mind and joy of the heart, and then photographs it for further reference.  She loves the process of paint to paper and uses the full range of color and light.

Robert St. Clair owner of Custom Metal Graphics was born and raised in Northern California but currently resides in Washoe Valley, NV and enjoys working with metal. Once a habitat artist for a renowned taxidermist company, he is now working on his own.   Much of his inspiration comes from the animals and references he's worked with, some from Mother Nature, and some from the innumerable and ever-varying phases of ornamental art.  With an education in computer graphics, Adobe AI is the platform where it begins and then through two other programs a tangible object is cut out with a  plasma cutter. Each piece is unique and the artwork can be displayed both indoors and outdoors.  He currently has public art located at the Carson City Chamber of Commerce (Fighting Stallions), the Serenity Trail behind the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center and had the honor of creating a Carson Valley Eagle design and presenting it to former Mayor Robert Crowell.
