Reception for Featured Artists
Local artists and Nevada Artist Association members Gary Wilson and Robert Bucknell invite you to their artists reception at the NAA gallery. Light refreshments will be served.
Gary Wilson has been drawing since he was 5 years old and painting since the age of 9. His painting has been inspired by his travels while in the Army in Europe 1971-1974. He met his wife of 49 years while stationed in Hohenfels Training Area Bavaria, Germany.
Since he retired 4 years ago he and his wife spent time in Germany, then tried an RV tour of the states, but were shut down by Covid. They bought a house on Rocky Terrace and are thrilled with the incredible views of the mountains and love hiking and exploring in the Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe.
Robert Bucknell is an award winning artist with more than 50 years’ experience in the art business. For the past 23 years he has focused on large scale murals, traveling extensively throughout the US and also South Africa to paint landscapes and wild life scenes for natural history exhibits.
His murals have been displayed in public, government, residential, and commercial places, including more than 35 Cabela's Sporting Goods Stores. Having recently retired from painting murals, Robert has turned his attention to oil painting with a preference for realism, winning him the 2022 Best of Show award at the Nevada Artists Association’s Nevada Day Show.
