The White House Inn Genoa

Just down the lane from the heart of historic downtown Genoa sits The White House Inn, a quaint venue that is very much a part of that history. The inn is, of course, a vintage two-story white house on a large lot with many features and plenty of historical aspects. Manager Lacey Ludwig describes a stay at the White House as being "very country in a peaceful setting that is 100 miles from nowhere but just 10 minutes from Costco." Guests can rent one of four sleeping room or the entire property for special events. Two bedrooms, one king and one queen are upstairs in the main house. A separate queen suite is in the Carriage House and includes a microwave and small refrigerator. Another queen suite is in the Cottage that has a full kitchen and a small refrigerator and is the only facility on the property that can accommodate pets upon prior approval. The main house facilities are available to all guests and include a small, limited kitchen with a dinette, a formal dining room, a living room with a fireplace, and an enclosed sun porch. Ludwig describes the decor as "modern enough for relaxing" and "a combination of historic styles that are a little contemporary, Victorian and cowboy." The inn is an ideal setting for small, intimate weddings, family reunions and other special occasions. It is walking distance from all the dining and historical sites downtown. Advance reservations are required on weekends and for special events and are highly recommended for weekday stays.
