When you first pull into the parking lot at the Wa She Shu Casino and Travel Plaza, the appearance is an austere, simple location set back from U.S. Highway 395 in the fashion of a typical roadside travel stop. But when you walk through the main casino entrance you are treated to a modern, well-decorated and pleasant facility, and you're likely to be greeted more than once by friendly employees. Opened in May 2016, Wa She Shu is one of the newest casinos in the area and features 130 hot, new video games. There is a pleasant, spacious dining room that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and also a small, full-service bar on the casino floor. The rewards club enables players to earn points as they gamble for free play and other rewards that can include a free breakfast buffet. The restaurant offers a variable-themed full buffet every Saturday evening. The casino has a variety of daily promotions. The casino also hosts a variety of Native American games and activities throughout the year. Visitors should be aware that unlike most Nevada casinos, Wa She Shu is not open on a 24/7 basis. The casino operates from 7 a.m. to midnight Monday through Wednesday and is open 24 hours Thursday through Sunday. The Travel Plaza has a large, modern convenience store that includes a full selection of food, snacks, beverages and other essentials. It features plenty of parking for trucks including eight overnight truck parking spaces.
