Along the shores of Topaz Lake, which straddles the Nevada-California border about 20 miles south of Gardnerville, Topaz Lake Park occupies 90 acres. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout and bass, making for a beautiful recreational fishing location. There's a boat-launching facility at the northeast shore of Topaz Lake, where you can take a boat out on the water for pleasure or for water skiing and other water sports. At Topaz Lake, there are 15 campsites with water and electricity available; 45 developed campsites without hookups; a group camping area for RVs; and an undeveloped camping area right on Topaz's beach, in case you're looking to use Topaz Lake as a jumping-off point for further ventures into the Toiyabe National Forest wilderness. At the park there are playgrounds for children, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. The park also offers storage rentals for boats and RVs. FYI: This park is known as an excellent place for bird watching.
