Step into one of the most historic locations in Nevada, the Genoa Bar & Saloon. It's the oldest continuously operating bar in the state, established in 1853 when Genoa was still a settlement and Nevada was not yet a state. Back then the bar was a swanky gentlemen's saloon serving the likes of Mark Twain. Much of the Western decor, antlers, wooden bar and renowned Diamond Dust Mirror still reside inside the historic bar from those times, and it has since been a favorite hangout or stop of Ulysses S. Grant, Lauren Bacall, Raquel Welch, John Wayne and Johnny Cash, to name a few, as well as a filming location for a handful of movies. The saloon's history may have taken on a life of its own, but its current owners invite you to come by for a game of pool, a song on the jukebox and a whiskey or a made-from-scratch Bloody Mary. This is a must-stop in Genoa, and it also offers itself as a completely unforgettable venue for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and any special event.
