Nevada State Museum

The Nevada State Museum is the place to explore all things relating to the art, culture and natural history of the Silver State. Permanent exhibits include the historic Carson City Mint, a display of the pre-history of the area that includes America's largest Columbian mammoth, a history of the Native American life in the Great Basin and more. The museum calendar includes a lecture series, family fun days and educational programming. And the Marjorie Russell Clothing and Textile Research Center, open to the public by appointment only, is a one-of-a-kind facility that strives to preserve historic costume and textile items.
