If variety is the spice of life, then the spice of Carson City's golf life is surely Sunridge Golf Club. A variety of holes slither through sage-dotted valley flatlands and wind up, down and around the surrounding hillside. Lakes, bunkers and an assortment of wild and natural features frame the experience at this 19-hole public course that has undergone significant recent upgrades to course conditions.
The layout includes a smorgasboard of short and long holes that require accuracy in some cases, sheer power on others and a combination of both on the most challenging par 4 and par 5 holes. Golfers of any skill level will enjoy an interesting and enjoyable outing if they play the tee set best suited to their game. General manager Ken Stott and the friendly pro shop staff are happy to provide pre-round advice to help first time players. In addition to daily fee play, the club offers a selection of membership options, annual passes and discount cards. For locals, Sunridge also offers a Men's Club, Senior Men's Club, 9-hole Ladies League and an 18-hole Monday Skins event and 9-hole Thursday Skins game.
Facilities include a 24-station driving range, practice green, chipping areas, pro shop and bar and grill. Under new ownership, Sunridge has expanded its facilities to accommodate events and weddings. It also offers new activity offerings like archery, hatchet throwing, bounce houses and trails for running and walking.
