Set along the Carson River on the site of the long forgotten and historic Comstock-era milling town of Empire City, "The Ranch" is home to one of northern Nevada's few 27-hole facilities. So which nine will you play — the Comstock, River or Sierra? All three offer a good test of golf for both low and high handicap players with tight fairways that meander through the wetlands and river valley featuring smooth, fast greens. It's an ideal choice for a quick nine before or after work or when you just don't have time to play a full round. And with three starting tee combinations to work with for 18-hole rounds, the professional staff has more tee times available daily.
Facilities include a well-stocked pro shop, driving range, chipping area and two practice putting greens. The friendly staff headed by PGA professional Sean Boggs offers a comprehensive lesson program including private and group lessons, on course playing lessons and a junior development program. The club also offers a variety of memberships and passes in addition to Men's, Senior Men's, Women and Couples Clubs. Mallards Restaurant is the center of clubhouse activity with a panoramic view of the course and sports bar with 10 high definition televisions. The menu features daily specials and a nice selection of breakfast, appetizers, burgers and sandwiches. Empire Ranch offers full banquet and catering services for tournaments, banquets, meetings and weddings.
