The Carson Valley Improvement Club Hall was built in the early 20th century by Minden high society as a place to improve the social life and opportunities for the community residents. In its early years, C.V.I.C. Hall held dances, operated as a movie theater and live theater, had a gymnasium and was overall the place to be seen and socialize throughout the 1900s. After extensive renovations, the hall is the standard of architecture and class in Carson Valley, and it still serves many different functions. The main hall can hold up to 290 people and dining for up to 190. The space includes a stage, a kitchen and dressing rooms used for conferences and performances of live theater and music. The separate Fortnightly Conference Room is used for smaller meetings. This piece of history in downtown Minden can be rented for all of these events and more, including weddings and private parties.
