Carson Valley Currency & Coins is on Carson Street, just north of the Nevada State Museum and the former U.S. Mint. This little coin shop buys and sells U.S. and foreign currency as well as gold and silver coins, bullion and jewelry, some dating back to the 19th century. Look inside one of the many cases of these historic coins and you'll also find old casino chips, trade tokens and watches. Nevada history can also be found here, specifically relating to the branch of U.S. Mint that operated here in the late 1800s and Nevada banking history pre-1935.
