Daytime Carson City Events

Including Minden, Gardnerville & Genoa Events

The capital city is a lively town, and Carson City daytime events tend to be seasonal in nature. Many people consider Carson City just as the place where the governor works and the state legislators gather every other year, but with many of the state government offices, departments and divisions located here as well as the industry, technology and agriculture bases, there are plenty of people, activities and events on the calendar all year long. The one event that might be considered to be the king of the hill is the Nevada Day parade and festivities each October to celebrate the Silver State's admission to the Union. Other annual events include celebrations of ethnic heritages that can be found in western Nevada, such as the Italian, Basque and Native American communities. Many of the daytime Carson City events are centered on the downtown area, close to both the government complexes and the businesses. This makes it easy to get around, as most of the activity will be within walking distance. Other events, such as the Father's Day powwow or the Nevada State Fair, are located away from the downtown and you'll need to plan your transportation accordingly in order to enjoy your day.

Food and Carson City Daytime Events

Many of the daytime Carson City events are celebrations of food and cuisine. In the spring, summer and fall, the activities might feature fresh produce from the area's farms and ranches, while in the cold season hot chocolate and mulled wine may highlight a snowy winter get-together. In the summertime, don't miss the events that are centered around barbecue. And in the fall Italian cuisine plays a large role in many of the events.
