Regional Junior Ranger Day
Get ready to discover some of the fascinating and fun things about your Washoe County Regional Parks, Trails, and Open Space! Park Rangers are the individuals who make sure that your parks are preserved and protected. Junior Rangers can help!
The community is invited to the sixth annual Regional Junior Ranger Day hosted this year by the Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department at Pete Livermore Sports Complex, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
This event will feature live music, food, activities hosted by local park agencies, a helicopter landing, and a dunk tank! Participating agencies include Nevada State Parks, Reno Parks, Washoe County Parks, and Carson City Parks. This event will be free and fun for all ages!
All Junior Rangers will receive a passport and need to visit each park’s booth before getting sworn in as the ultimate Junior Ranger! Dress for the dunk tank and bring your own towel. Kids who meet the height requirement will be able to enter the dunk tank. All participants will be required to check in with a Carson City Park Ranger to sign a waiver, and parents will need to sign for minors.
Thank you to The Sun Rays, who will be playing surf and rock tunes perfect for dancing along to! Thank you also to Lady Griller, who will be serving delicious food, and La Tapatia, who will be serving homemade ice cream, popsicles, and fresh seasonal beverages!
