Mills Park Pickleball Courts Grand Opening

Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space, Mills Park Pickleball Courts Grand Opening
Event Description:

The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. for the new and improved Mills Park pickleball courts. The public is encouraged to join the celebration with games, dinking exercises, free pickleballs, donuts, a raffle with pickleball prizes, and a ribbon-cutting with Mayor Bagwell!

Completion of the Mills Park pickleball courts project included the addition of six new courts for a total of fourteen courts open and available to the public.

This approximately $1.1 million project, built by Spanish Springs Construction, was funded by a combination of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), a Community Development Block Grant, Quality of Life Capital, Carson City Capital Improvement Program funds, and support from the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation.

The project scope included replacing aging and unusable tennis courts with new post-tension concrete pickleball courts, widening sidewalks, and improving access, increasing opportunities for park users of all ages and abilities. The concrete courts will be more durable, last longer, and require less ongoing maintenance.

When: Friday, August 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Mills Park Pickleball Courts, 841 North Roop St., Carson City, NV 89701, next to the Carson Aquatic Facility
