Carson City's Third Annual Trails Challenge

Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space, Carson City's third annual Trails Challenge
Event Description:

It's time for Carson City's third annual Trails Challenge - and this year it's Quality of Life 30th Anniversary Edition! The

The Carson City Trails Challenge is a free program that encourages individuals and families, of all ages and abilities, to explore the many trails found right here in our own backyard. This year, the 2026 Trails Challenge is themed to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Carson City's Quality of Life Initiative (QOL).

In 1996, the residents of Carson City voted to implement a 1/4-cent sales tax to provide dedicated funding for the acquisition of open space, and the development and maintenance of new park and recreation facilities, including trails. In each of our Trail Descriptions this year, learn about how the QOL Initiative has helped make Carson City such a great place to live, work, and play!

Register today and join us on Saturday March 28th at Silver Saddle Ranch from 10:00am-12:00pm for the 2026 Trails Challenge Launch and a Park Ranger-Led Wildlife Walk. This free and fun event will be a great way to kick off your Challenge, meet other Trails Challenge participants, and to log your first trail!
