Carson Valley Trails Day
Celebrate National Trails Day with two great events.
Bently Heritage Trail
Join the Carson Valley Trails Association and The Nature Conservancy at the Bently Heritage Trail (formerly the Bently-Kirman Tract Trail).
Start the morning at 7:30 a.m. with a three-, five- or six-mile trail run with CVTA President-Elect, Norah Gastelum. At 9 a.m., celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the rededication/renaming of the trail with Duane Petite (TNC Carson River Project Director) and Jeremy Vican (CVTA Trail Operations VP). After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, go on a guided hike with Pam Petite.
Interpretive Hiking on the Fay-Luther Trail
Meet at the Fay-Luther Trail at 8 a.m. for an enjoyable, educational morning of self-guided hiking.
Meet experts along the trail who will talk about topics related to the Fay-Luther Trail and Carson Valley: Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, Fay-Luther canyon history, geology of the Carson Valley, and wildlife and plant life of the Carson Valley.
This is a free event. No advance registration needed. Participants must register onsite and sign waiver of liability. Age 17 and under must be accompanied by parent/guardian.
Snacks, water, CVTA merchandise and membership information will be available.
