September 11 Memorial Observance
Local observance of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks will be at the memorial site at Mills Park, located near the Marv Teixeira Pavilion. The memorial is hosted by Calvary Chapel in Carson City and Carson City Christian Ministerial Fellowship.
Each year attendees gather at the memorial site in Mills Park, which contains a piece of the steel beam donated to the city from the World Trade Center’s fallen North Tower.
Among representatives at the observance will be the Carson City Fire Department, Fire Chief Sean Slamon, Carson City Sheriff's Office, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, Carson City Mayor Lori Bagwell.
The September 11 attacks killed 2,977 people, making it the deadliest terrorist attack in history.
