Event Description: 

Each year, the Pony Express holds a re-ride in which members of the National Pony Express, Nevada Division ride night and day in an exchange change across the west. 

Last year, the re-ride began in St. Joseph Missouri. This year, the ride will reverse, beginning in Old Town Sacramento and head east. The ride lasts ten days through June, conceding with the full moon, with riders continuing 24 hours a day in the relay until the mail is delivered. 

While schedules aren’t exact due to the nature of travel, the approximate schedule has been released by NPEA Nevada. 

The Nevada Division is scheduled to receive the mail via horseback from the California Division at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 12th at Woodford’s Station. 

They are hoping to get into Genoa around 3:30 p.m., followed by the handoff at 2nd and Curry in Carson City at 6 p.m. 

While in Carson, the rider may take surface streets to get to Mills Park and then take Highway 50 East to Arrowhead Drive for the next exchange. 

They are expected to be in Old Town Dayton to exchange at the XP monument at the corner of Main and Pike around 7 p.m. 

The Pony will continue down Highway 50 E. to Ft Churchill Road. 

The next main exchange will be in front of Ft Churchill around 10:45 p.m.
