Annual Lone Mountain Cemetery Cleanup
The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department, as part of the Move with the Mayor initiative, is hosting the fourth annual volunteer cleanup day at Lone Mountain Cemetery on Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Volunteers will focus on weed removal around headstones and markers. This event will require volunteers to stoop, kneel and lift piles of weeds and debris, and utilize basic hand tools such as rakes and hula hoe weeders.
Tools, gloves, coffee and water will be provided, city officials said. Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes and bring sunscreen and water bottles.
“If you are part of a group, wear your organization’s swag with pride,” the release said.
Dogs are not permitted at the cemetery. Parking is available along Beverly Drive or at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive.
