World Championship Outhouse Races
The World Championship Outhouse Races are back in Virginia City for the 32nd year, and you do not want to miss this quirky event!
The sight of outhouses barreling down the street in an all-out potty race would be odd anywhere, but not in historic Virginia City, Nevada. This annual tradition pits teams of three costumed outhouse racers against each other in a sprint down the town’s main street towards the (you guessed it) toilet paper finish line!
Teams from all over the country will be competing in this hilarious race! Festivities begin at noon Saturday, Oct. 6 with a parade of outhouses down C Street and the races start immediately after. The racing action continues Sunday, Oct. 7 at noon and concludes with the crowning of the champion outhouse racing team.
The competition is open to anyone 18 and older and teams of three must provide their own outhouse to race. Registration is open online.
